Can you buy concert tickets from a venue’s box office to avoid convenience charges?

August 31, 2009 - 7:16 am 1 Comment

More importantly, would I have to wait until the day of the concert? I would like to just drop by the venue and see if I can purchase general admission tickets early.

Its better to buy the tickets before the day of the event as most of the times, tickets are sold out by then.

You can also purchase these tickets online at

and save up to 5% off by using discount code Hannah.

How do I obtain sponsors for a charity event at my high school?

August 31, 2009 - 7:15 am 2 Comments

I am currently organizing a charity event at my school to raise money for kids with cancer and their families. The event is going to feature professional comedians and all proceeds with benefit this cause. How do I find companies to sponsor the event? How do i go about raising a lot of money.

Since it is your local High School I would approach all the local business firms. Call and set up an appointment, explain to them what you are trying to do and ask if you can depend on their support, and what can you put them down for.,
Once you have one sponsor you can use that as leverage in going to the other businesses.
Money is tight this year, but donations are a tax write off, so that may help, and certainly it is a wonderful cause.
Good luck and I wish you much success….thank you

How many of the 8 choreographers usually show up at the PULSE tour dates?

August 31, 2009 - 7:15 am 1 Comment

I know that on the website it says that of the 8 PULSE choreographers (Wade, Dave Scott, Shane Sparks, Mia Michaels, Brian Friedman, Tyce DiOrio, Laurie-Ann Gibson, and Cris Judd) at least four of them will be at each tour date, but I wanted to know if they usually all are there, and thats just a disclaimer if one of them is sick/hurt/ect, or if it usually is only four of them there.

If someone could let me know it’d be very appreciated.

I went to Pulse this year in New Jersey, and our choreographers were Dave Scott, Shane Sparks, Mia Michaels, Brian Friedman, Laurie-Ann Gibson, and Cris Judd. We also had Chio and Luam. So, we had 6 of the 8 choreographers, and then two guests. I’m guessing that they try to get all 8, but if some are unavailable then they bring in subs. If you haven’t done Pulse before I would definately recommend it- it was an awesome experience!

Hope this helps!

What is the cheapest way to buy concert tickets online from an organization without those large ticket fees?

August 31, 2009 - 7:15 am 6 Comments

I wanted to buy some concert tickets, but the ticket fees from livenation and ticketmaster are almost 50% on top of the ticket price. Is there a cheaper way to buy tickets without using a scalper or ebay?

nofeestickets.com or get Emails from live nation, because they often have events where they sell lawn seats without service fees.

What are good musical theatre audition songs for female character actors?

August 31, 2009 - 7:15 am 5 Comments

I’m a female character actor (able to play characters aged between 12 - 23) gathering songs for my standard ballad/up-tempo and contemporary ballad/up-tempo musical theatre audition pieces. The more obscure the musical, the better.

An example of what a character actor would sing is a song like "I Can’t Say No" from Oklahoma!

You might try something from Urinetown (such as Privilege to Pee), maybe Hairspray, the ballad ‘There’s a Fine, Fine Line’ from Avenue Q, ‘The Soloman Song’ (or others) from Threepenny Opera, or ‘You Can Always Count on Me’ from City of Angels.

Something I sometimes do is check out the Internet Broadway Database, looking up the show I’m auditioning for (or previous roles I’ve played) and see what else that actor appeared in. That generally points me in a good direction.

What are some important current events in America?

August 31, 2009 - 7:15 am 8 Comments

I leave for a leadership conference tomorrow and we have to research current events and I want to see what other people think are the most important current events of the day? Whether it is government related or just news.

1). Electronic surveillance and mandatory tracking with electronic devices (such as with the Houston Metro Q-card for riding city buses).

2). Land grabs (such as Houston Metro in process of accomplishing on Richmond Ave in Houston, Texas, after proposal for Metrorail expansion was voted and approved for Metrorail on West Park).

3). US nationals and residents being deprived of human rights (such as in the munipulation of societies with implants and electronic waves). Please see:

How do standby tickets work? Or is there anywhere to get a good deal on flights?

August 31, 2009 - 7:15 am 2 Comments

I’d like to try to catch a flight from Austin, Tx to Dallas, Tx TOMORROW!

How big of a discount do you get flying standby? And how do I go about getting those tickets? What’s the chance that there will be available seats?

I didn’t know I was going to need to fly until a few hours ago.

The fare depends on the type of ticket or discount you are entitled to.Few Airlines charge as per the mile where as other just gives you the discount by just taking the taxes.

Best is to keep checking the flight load, if the flight is relatively less loaded then the chances are that you be able to make it on the flight but if the flight is over booked then the preference would be given to the commercial passengers first and you would only get the seat in-case there is any no show or last minute cancellation.
