Im going to their concert in August and I’m wonder when does the venue open so that u can go in? Also is their a gift shop at the concert? And if so what do they sell and when is it open? Is it crowded?

Hi!! Well, I went to the Portland, Oregon show, and both Vancouver, Canada dates. So, I know a little about this lol!
Basically, I think they open at about half an hour before… so if your ticket says 7pm, the arena opens at 6:30pm (approx.) That’s what happened in Portland and the second Vancouver date. (They were extrememly late for the first Vancouver concert but that’s because they were stuck at the border and had lighting problems)
Also, they do have a sort of gift shop…like a few tables set up. Be prepared for line ups though! I bought stuff in Portland before the show (trust me - by stuff before because after was MAYHEM and they didn’t seem to have as much stuff.) They sell quite a variety of t-shirts for about $40US or $45 Canadian (p.s. - they’re really nice - I bought the blue one and the white one and they look really nice & good quality) and they have this cool JB World Tour bag (forget the price…maybe $25ish - got that too!) and those VIP style necklaces. And I forget what else they sell.
Vancouver had the booth outside so you could buy stuff before the concert but Portland just had it inside, so it depends I guess.
The crowds were CRAZY. We lined up for at least an hour, more like 2.

On May 22 I am going to a concert with Alkaline Trio, Anberlin, The Used, The Offspring, and Taking Back Sunday.

The Offspring is headlining the show so I know they will play the longest.

But I am going there mainly to see Taking Back Sunday and since they are not headlining they probably wont play as long.

How long do the NON headlining bands usually play at concerts?

To tour the US Supreme Court do you need a reservation, and how do you book one (the website is rather unclear). Also, can you just walk in as you can in the Library of Congress and the National Archives, or must you have a reserved tour, like the Capitol and White House?

They haven’t announced a tour yet, but last week they played their first two shows in small venues in the bay area and are playing two more next week, so hopefully they will announce u.s. tour dates soon.
Keep your eye on greenday.com and greendayauthority.com, the webmaster does have contact with the band and management so they will know right away when the dates do come out.

I just got a ticket in the mail for having a cabnet sitting on my porch. And the ticket is for $123.50 Yes I will be going to court.

I bought it at a garage sale and didn’t realize it had been pissed on by cats until later. Didn’t take it back as I only paid a dollar for it. Would have spent more on gas.

It gets better my neighbor has about 3 cars growing in his driveway and the house 3 doors down has a big hole in the roof.

I was at a garage sale on a sunday and was loading stuff into the driver side when A friend got stuck on the passenger side loading a heavy object
he was by the curb and I the street. i quickly went to help him just as a cop car came by. stopped and gave me a ticket for having my driver door open unattended. the street was 50 feet wide and no traffic. this was in Vallejo CA one of the worst cities in America. the cops are very mean and will beat you up on any pretext.
I complained to the police captain to no avail. The people of vallejo are terified of their own policemen

Do you mean Music Theater at High School vs in college?? Generally, the commitment is MUCH greater. However dedicated and hardworking you think you are, double it. Step up your professionalism - everyone still has a good time, and there are cast parties, but it’s not a social club like high school….people are there to make connections, find future jobs and make money. Also, understand that there are dozens of people dying for your part. If you really really mess it up, or don’t show for a call, or don’t take your part seriously, someone else will. (The directors I worked for in college had absolutly no problem firing a lead and subbing in the understudy.) Finally, no matter how good you were in high school, you are a freshman (low man on the totem pole) and competing against many many more people. If you get a lousey part, or an understudy - LOVE it. Show up, do your best, and be helpful. It’s gonna take time for people to notice you and give you the really good parts.

I’m not trying to be mean, but I’ve seen people (some good friends) try this career and leave in tears. It’s rough, and no one wants to hear that they just aren’t as good as they think they are. (you’re in college to learn remember? :p )

It depends on how competive you want to get…Julliard is good, but you’re gonna possibly kill yourself to get in :p Same with any other conservatory. Some state colleges have really good musical theater programs…I was recenly impressed with the University of Central Florida’s….You’re best bet is to find a search engine like embark.com and start researching your options. (or just google "musical theater" + colleges)

PS. ALWAYS be nice to the techies. No matter what. They can seriously mess up your show (they are controlling the lights, your microphone, costume ect) :p Besides, most of them are usually good friends with the directior, production mgr, tech director ect. And they all stick together.
