Can you exchange concert tickets if you have bought them for the wrong venue?

November 30, 2009 - 7:49 am 2 Comments

My sister bought me tickets for the Kerrang! Relentless Energy Drink Tour, but I was already planning to go with my friends in a completely different place. I wanted to go to Newcastle, but she bought them for Leeds. She seems determined that you can’t exchange them if you bought them for the wrong venue - is this true? Is there anything I can do?

Sell them. You might even make a profit.

What tv shows have captivated you since you first started watching them?

November 30, 2009 - 7:49 am 7 Comments

What addicting television shows would you recommend I purchase? I also ask you why you watch or watched the program. What makes the tv series so unique?
Do you know any good tv shows like Desperate Housewives? I love shows like Desperate Housewives, Ugly Betty, 30 Rock, basically anything witty or that teaches a life lesson. Seinfeld is funny too. I’m not asking for a minimum or maximum, just what shows you like and WHY.

My addicting shows are DEFINITLY:
- Ugly Betty: The show always makes me smile and has a great message about loving yourself for who you are. And it doesnt hurt to have some hilarious scenes, amazing writing great cast! It’s in its 4th season right now and I think it’s the best its ever been - Fridays ABC lol. Its very different from anything out there right now and I have to say it’s probably my favorite show..it has comedy, drama and heart, and its honestly the only show I watch where I think about it after its aired. It is probably the strongest show out there in terms of talks about Life Lessons.

- Pushing Daisies: It’s bright and bold just like Ugly Betty and it has this cool fairytale mystery story and its just awesome. Its such a shame that it got cancelled but it is REALLY different from anything out there which makes it unique. Its only 2 seasons so I’d definitly reccommend you buy it. Its really good.

- Gilmore Girls: While a lot of people cant stand the show because they talk so much, Lauren Graham is an amazing actress and this show is honestly a great drama and comedy show all into one and talks about the relationships between people

Other ones that I’ve always loved/love are:
- Eastwick…it got cancelled but so far so good! ABC should air the remaining episodes
- Friends
- Project Runway haha, its just so different from other reality tv shows

Can you purchase a greyhound ticket with just a school id?

November 30, 2009 - 7:48 am 2 Comments

Im almost 17 years old, and currently on my own, and I was planning on catching a greyhound to go somewhere with higher paying jobs, so I can start a new life. But all I have is a highschool id and my social secruity card. Would that be enough id to purchase a ticket.

I don’t think they even ask for I.D.. You should have your birth certificate if you are striking out on your own…you willneed it for other purposes as time goes on…like to get a drivers license or state I.D.card. Be careful and wise…and good luck.

How can I major in Meteorology and Theatre without spending more than 5 years in college?

November 30, 2009 - 7:48 am 1 Comment

I am young but I know what I want to do. I want to be a Storm Chaser and a Broadway actress. Can anyone help me on getting my start in both of these professions? How many years of college would I have to attend to major in both of these? Any good colleges that focus on Theatre or Meteorology? Maybe one in Europe for the acting. I appreciate your help.

Florida State University has both an outstanding Theater program and Meteorology program.

How do you select multiple events in sony vegas?

November 30, 2009 - 7:48 am 1 Comment

I know about ctrl + click, but when you have many events, that can be a chore. Is there any other way to select multiple events quickly and easily?

Hold shift and click two events, that should select everything BETWEEN them. Also, you should be able to drag a box around multiple events.

How do you order movie tickets and retrieve them?

November 30, 2009 - 7:48 am 2 Comments

New Moon is tomorrow night (obviously) and I’m ordering my ticket online. How do I retrieve it?Does the website give me anything? What do I need to bring to the theater? Can I use cash to pay because I have no credit card,or is it prepaid since you have to pay to order the tickets?

If you are ordering them online, you will use a credit card for the tickets. Then go to the theatre to pick up the tickets either from the ticket booth or they may have a machine there. My theatre had a machine inside that you touch screen to pick up tickets, then swipe your credit card and your tickets will come out of the machine. You will have to bring the credit card you used to purchase the tickets with you.
If you don’t have a credit card, then go right to the movie theatre to buy the tickets.

What camera is good for recording at concerts?

November 23, 2009 - 7:22 am 1 Comment

I really want the cool pix camera, the one thats touch screen with ashton kutcher in the commercials, but is it good for concerts? if not could you let me know which camera might be. like when you record it doesnt sound like a bunch of fuzz and bass. thanks (:

First of all, you may not be allowed to bring a camera into the venue, I’d check first.

Next problem is that concerts are a low light situation, usually also coupled with much movement as well as a fair distance from the subject.

All up, that makes it EXTREMELY challenging. The only hope of half decent concert photos are good DSLR cameras and even for those you need very good and very FAST lenses.

Little P&S cameras can NOT keep up in that situation, least of all if you’re not right in front of the stage.

If you can’t have a good camera with you, at the very least make sure you learn how to you use what you have, so you can make the most out of it. Read your manual several times, attend a class, read some books on photography - it will help a lot.

If I understand your last sentence correctly, you also expect a tiny little Point & Shoot camera to somehow magically produce excellent sound, and in difficult circumstances, no less?
It is not going to happen. There is a reason why people who record music for a living have HUGE amounts of very expensive equipment!

How much would a ticket signed by Lano and Woodley sell for?

November 23, 2009 - 7:22 am 1 Comment

The ticket is from the brisbane powerhouse in Australia, the text and that from the ticket is quite faded and only just readable, however the two signatures are readable. Only thing is that it is addresed to my name "To Tim". Ticket is from 2006.

Hm depends who is looking on ebay at the moment for lw stuff… would’ve been better had you laminated it but oh well. Good luck..i miss them. Frank is doing a gig on the 22nd nov at the paddo tavern with other comics, and col’s in a musical from the 25th at qpac..eurobeat….yay!!!

Are there any really good amateur theatre groups near to Edinburgh?

November 23, 2009 - 7:22 am 2 Comments

I am hoping to move to Edinburgh and join a theatre group. I love musicals. Any advice I would be grateful.

Edinburgh amateur theatre

Edinburgh supports a large number of active amateur dramatics and musical theatre companies. Most weeks see at least one amateur production running, using one of the myriad small theatres and church halls, many of which are familiar with hosting theatrical productions thanks to being in high demand during the Edinburgh Festival Fringe. Some of the larger companies use the professional stage at the King’s Theatre, whilst the City of Edinburgh Council run Church Hill Theatre is one of the most popularly used theatres for amateur companies.
