How might the events of 1919 and 1920 be considered the end of the progressive era?

With the war at an end, it was time to cut loose, so those policies went by the wayside.

Also wtih Harding and the Ohio Gang in charge, corruption was the key word

What program allows me to use a single list of events for multiple calendars?

February 7, 2010 - 10:45 am 2 Comments

I wish to create several different calendars, all with the same events. As this is for an organisation, we have a large number of events, and I don’t want to insert the same events for each of the calendars. Is there any software (Microsoft Publisher?) or online program that allows you to create a list of events which can be automatically inserted into multiple calendar templates?

KeepandShare.com has an online calendar that does a great job of this. Accounts are free. Depending on whether you want to control access by multiple folks you could create multiple accounts.

But, more simply, since each account includes 9 separate calendars, you could create your event calendar "1", and then use KeepandShare’s ‘overlay’ feature to bring that Calendar1 into your Calendar2, into Calendar3, calendar4 etc. Then you can do any customization in cal2,3,4 you like without changing cal1, and any changes you make to cal1 are instantly picked up by cal2,3,4.

Powerful sharing controls and beautiful PDF printing round out the picture.

What kind of current events do i need to know for ap government?

January 31, 2010 - 9:08 am 1 Comment

Like what time range would current mean? Which years are most possibly in political cartoons in AP government tests? If you can, can you give me suggestions for websites to get current events thar=t are possibly in the tests. Can you mention an popular events most frequently in the tests.

My AP Government teacher just told me to be reasonable. Technically, they could ask you about a Supreme Court case from a month before the test. Would they? I doubt it. Generally, if you just remember the big court cases (McCullough v. Maryland, Marbury v. Madison, etc.) and most recent formal amendments to the constitution, you should be fine.

Is there a book that shows and examines events such as earthquakes, craters and volcanoes in the United States?

January 20, 2010 - 7:40 am 2 Comments

I would like to find a publication with maps of these three types of events with information on each event, such as date, size, location, effects, etc…

It would mainly be about significant events that have been proven or documented.

Not sure what books are out.
The USGS has a good web site on earthquakes and another on volcanoes. Present, past, historical.
geology.com has a neat site on 50 impact craters in the world.

What are the 10 most important events that occured during Ralph Nader’s lifetime?

December 31, 2009 - 5:57 am 1 Comment

Not personal events, but rather global events such as Wars, the creation of the internet etc. No individual battles. These should be events during the time period of 1934-Now. Please list these events chronologically-and why they are important in the broad scheme of things.

Here. These timelines will help you do your homework.

What 2 major events happened when president william henry harrison was in office?

December 15, 2009 - 8:10 am 2 Comments

I need to find out what two major events happened when he was in office. it can be anywhere in the world.

He was only in office for a month before dying of pneumonia because he didn’t bundle up for his Inauguration. Google "World History, February 1837 to April 1837" it might help. Perhaps the answer is "first President to die in office" and "first President (Tyler) to become President during his predecessors term."

How did these events of the French Revoluton contribute to the growth of democracy?

December 7, 2009 - 1:13 pm 1 Comment

1. Meeting of the Estates General
2. Tennis Court Oath
3. Storming of the Bastille
4. March on Versailles
5. Reign of Terror
6. Rise of Napoleon

I just need a short paragraph that explains how these events contributed to the growth of democracy.

Democracy is the wrong word. Republicanism arose, not democracy where everyone has 1 vote that counts equally without there being representatives. Eventually, by 1794, when Robespierre and the Committee for Public Safety came to power every man, and even for a short time women were given the right to vote, slaves were freed, there were some food programs for the poor and even labor laws.

How do you select multiple events in sony vegas?

November 30, 2009 - 7:48 am 1 Comment

I know about ctrl + click, but when you have many events, that can be a chore. Is there any other way to select multiple events quickly and easily?

Hold shift and click two events, that should select everything BETWEEN them. Also, you should be able to drag a box around multiple events.
