Who is liable for my unpaid parking tickets if my car has been sold to a junkyard?

February 14, 2010 - 5:00 pm 7 Comments

I have two unpaid parking tickets. I read that if I’ve sold my car, the new owner is responsible for the unpaid parking tickets.

However, I’ve sold the car to a junkyard, and it has been scrapped for parts.

Should I still pay the tickets at this point? Or should I send in the illegal parking notices with my change-of-ownership to the DMV?

Well it depends, did you get the tickets before you sold it?, if so then you are responsible, but if you sold it and the junkyard got the tickets then you are still probably responsible, junk yards have a bad habit of not changing the ownership and parking anywhere not caring because it’s not in their name, you were supposed to file the release of liability, with DMV, when you sold it, to prove the tickets are not yours if you didn’t you have to pay them or they will come and lock your current car now or later they will lock your car until you pay, and if you don’t pay now the fines will grow, and if you can’t pay they take your car and you probably still have to pay, with interest growing. And just because you sold it as junk to the junk yard doesn’t necesaryly mean they junked it or sold parts, 98 percent of the time if they can repair it they sell it for more money

Do I need to purchase the tour tickets to gain access on top of the hoover dam to walk across it? That’s all I want to do, just walk across it and see the beautiful view.

Its free to walk on the top of hoover dam -

Buying one way tickets from different airlines to complete a trip?

January 22, 2010 - 12:43 pm 5 Comments

Any downsides to doing this if the prices are good? That is, buying 2 one way tickets from different airlines instead of a round trip ticket for a trip. I am wondering if it makes airport security more of a hassle or any other possible downsides.
what is the secondary screening like?

yes you probably will be chosen for secondary screening because the airline will only
see one way and that’s usually a security tip off
I had a friend who flew jet blue to salt lake (one way) (and yep they had to though secondary screening
and for the return they flew southwest home and again they had go though secondary screening with TSA

What is the difference between presale tickets and general/normal tickets?

January 20, 2010 - 7:40 am 3 Comments

Super Junior, a korean boyband will be performing in my country on the 20th of march but already there are tickets up for sale, they call it the presale period and it starts tomorrow until the end of january. The tickets are very expensive for me though (as I’m only a student)- they are priced at RM238, RM458- I’ve never been to any other concerts before so I was just wondering if the normal tickets will be at a lower price? Or are the presale tickets cheaper?

Generally, the word "pre" means prior to an event. So, pre-sale is actually the duration before the actual sale period of the concert tickets.

For instance, the actual selling date is Feb 1st, but due to the fact that the group has a huge fan base in Asia, the organizer might have expected a huge turn up of fans at one time. In order to sort out the fans, they basically organized an earlier selling period to allow Super Junior fans to access concert tickets and grab the best seats before it is open to the general public during actual sale period.

This summer my family is planning on taking a trip to Orlando Florida. How much are airline tickets from The Oakland airport to Orlando Florida? (I don’t know what airport we would end up at. ) Thanks for your help.

there are quite a few sites that you can search that will likely give you the best prices available. check out the website BookMe and you will be able to compare prices on all the reputable travel sites in just a couple minutes. it’s very convenient and will save you a bunch of time and money. Also, make sure you buy them online… otherwise they charge much higher fees for phone orders. good luck.

How necessary is it to reserve tickets for Vegas shows?

January 9, 2010 - 1:44 pm 8 Comments

I’m going to Vegas during the week (Sunday through Wednesday) and want to see some shows. Is it a good idea to reserve tickets or are tickets generally available the day of at the box office?

Unless you absolutely want to see a certain show I would not reserve tickets. Go to the half price ticket booths all over Vegas early in the morning and see what shows they have available. Right now most shows are available there especially Sunday through Wednesday. Week ends are not as bad. You can go to this site and on the coupon page click on free coupons. There you will find a discount on top of the discount at the Tix4tonight ticket booths. That usually saves you the service fee they charge.

How do I use tickets bought online with fast pass?

January 6, 2010 - 4:02 pm 2 Comments

If I buy Disneyland tickets online and print them at home, how can I get fast passes? I wouldn’t be able to put the tickets into the fast pass machine. Do you exchange them at guest services for actual tickets or does it work another way? Thanks!

When you go to the park entrance the ticket booth with exchange your print out for a hard ticket. This is the actual ticket you will use in the Fast Machines located at each ride that offers the fast pass option.
