what digital camera is best for taking pictures at concerts?
I go to a lot of concerts and I take a lot of pictures but my camera is horrible its a Nikon coolpix and it takes horrible pictures. what camera is affordable and takes really good pictures? thanks.

Seems to me you are one who is in the best position to answer this question. If you normally sit in the same general area. I would ask others taking pictures how long their zoom lens is. The only answer here indicates a 3x zoom. I would recommend a minimum 5x to anyone for a general purpose camera.
I would recommend Canon this time around not Nikon.
I personally like the Canon SX 10 IS. It has a long zoom and flip viewfinder which could be great for over-the head shots in crowds.

Other than a DSLR type camera, I suggest the Canon SX20 IS or the Canon SX10 IS. Remember also that very few point and shoot camera are very good in low light. And for a concert I feel it would have to be a super zoom camera. Also remember there’s some luck involved in that you must catch the performers at peak stillness. That’s hard to do. Movement on your part or theirs could give blurry results. I would also choose one with a viewfinder. I took shots a few years ago of a 50 piece orchestra and photos turned out quite well. Most of my photos were shot at ISO setting of 320. That one thing you have to experiment with. I would not go over ISO 400.
