Never Justify Poor Performance
In the beginning of the movie as Greg is speaking, his rationale for living in the conditions he find himself in is defend by the thought that he has no worry about bills and he has all of the creature comforts that many “normal” people have in their homes. I think of Julio in the movie, as he sets up a mock security system for his living area with string a pencil and a few pans is evidence that he values security. When Dee’s house burned down, her friend Ralph allow her to stay with him. Ralph valued her friendship enough to allow her to share his home even though her drug habit was in conflict with his values and beliefs about crack.
