They’re only young once. You can do it. I’ve been a professional organizer for 16 years. You don’t need an event planner. To ease your stress, start planning 4-8 weeks before the big day. Put up party decorations and prepare the food the day before your gala event! Put your favors together a week ahead of time. Working off a party planning checklist to ensure you don’t forget to do something and planning ahead is the key to your success. Do these things and you will be able to enjoy your child’s birthday without feeling stressed and frazzled. It will not only be special, but also memorable.

It took you a while to organise the kids first birthday? How? Call up the family and buy a cake and some gifts. Not exactly hard.

Personally, I think it’s a waste of money and no child needs a birthday party that you would need an event planner unless you were Miley Cyrus or something.

Secondly, I think the party would have more meaning if you put your heart and hard work into it. How hard is it to go pick out a cake and make up invitations(you can even have them printed out so all you have to do it address and mail them)? Look online for different party ideas and do the planning yourself.

Besides, your daughter is turning 1, I doubt she’ll remember anything from that day.

lillilou is right. Kids parties are getting way out of hand. What ever happened to cake, ice cream, and pizza? People spend so much time and so much money trying to top all of their kids’ friends parties, when the kids would have just as much fun running around in the backyard.

Waste of money. You can rent out a bowling alley like Brunswick.There’s all sorts of places these days that cater to children’s birthdays. Pizza , Cake, Ice cream & lot’s of fun is all you need for a child’s Birthday party…

Even if I had money to throw away, I wouldn’t throw it away paying for that! That is ridiculous to me. I want to be the one creating the party, not some hired party planner. It definitely took some time to organize, etc., but it was a good experience that I’ll remember.
