Can US Military Endorse Christian Event?

August 6, 2009 - 9:10 am 25 Comments

The biased reporting from Fox News’ Bill O’Reilly on the decision of the US Air Force to deny a request for an aircraft flyby at a Christian festival in Idaho obfuscated a real issue of First Amendment law under the US Constitution as I show in this video.

The 3 fair use clips from Fox News’ “The O’Reilly Factor” come from the July 9, 2009, broadcast some of which is available online at http://www.foxnews.com/video/index.html?playerId=videolandingpage&streamingFormat=FLASH&referralObject=6704469

The webpage showing the mission statement of the Treasure Valley God and Country Festival in Nampa, Idaho, that I briefly show in my video is online at http://godandcountryfestival.com/the-mission-of-the-god-and-country-festival.html

The full text of the US Supreme Court case, Everson v. Board of Education, 330 U.S. 1 (1947), to which I referred in my video is available online at http://caselaw.lp.findlaw.com/scripts/getcase.pl?court=US&vol=330&invol=1

The image of the $100 bill I used in this video came from my own scan.
