What does a non profit theatre school mean?

SABA is now non-profit

San Angelo Broadway Academy Youth Theatre is now officially a Texas non-profit theatre arts school!

YEA.!!!

My theatre director put that..

What does it mean?

Please help!

It means they don’t take any of the profit for the tickets, or money they make, they give it away to a charity or somehting

  5. It means that they have registered and been approved by the federal and state governments as a charity, and are recognized as such. They don’t have to pay income tax. They are eligible to apply for grants. They are expected to not have a surplus of money at the end of the year. Blah blah blah.
