I don’t mean to be rude, but are you new at football? Preseason games are like practice games. They don’t have anything to do with the 16 season games. Usually the main starters don’t even play. The rookies play so the coaches can decide whom to pick for a starter in the regular season games.

Before the Regular season, each team plays 4 pre-season games. The starters(best players) usually get very little playing during the pre-season because they’re too valuable. Wouldn’t want them to get injured.

Basically the tickets are cheaper because the games are meaningless.

Preseaon is twhen the starters come in for a series or two and the coaches put the "scrubs" in to see how they react in game time situations. Most of those guys go back to their real jobs when the season starts.

On a personal note: If my daughter bought me pre-season tickets as a gester for fixing her car, I would be pleased she was thinking of me and what I like.

It’s before the season starts. Those games don’t mean anything. If you want to do something really nice, get him tickets to a regular season game, maybe against the Chiefs, Raiders, or Broncos. Those are there biggest rivals.

Pre-season are the games before the real season starts. They are cheaper because the starters (or best players) only play for a few quarters (a small portion of the game) and the second rate players and players that are trying to make the team play the remainder. Pre season games are used to prep the team for the real season and to give the other guys a chance to make the team by impressing the coaches.

I am a San Diego native and Charger’s fan myself. In the preseason the starters do not play the entire game. Depending on the game they will only be on the field for maybe 25% of the game. Mostly the pre season is used to see who the best backups are. I would reccomend (if it is feasable for you financially) to look at regular season tickets. There are a good number of games at Qualcom this year that should be quite interesting for the avid football fan.

9/9 CHICAGO (they were in the superbowl last year)
11/11 INDIANAPOLIS (might be the best game of the year)
11/25 BALTIMORE (they were one of 2 teams that were able to beat us last year)

also the Detroit Lions and Houston Texans come to SD this year. They aren’t the best teams in the league and commonly season ticket holders try to sell these tickets. So sometimes they can be found for a slight discount (depends on how well our Bolts do this year - they could go higher too). So check out stubhub.com (good ticket re-seller).

The preseason games are practice. Each team plays four of them before the real season starts. Usually the good players don’t play but for a very small portion of the games. They are kind of boring.

Pre Season means well Before the real season begins. It is just a five week stretch where teams figure out who stays and who goes. Who starts and who is benched. Don’t get preseason tickets. You get to see maybe a quarter of the real team stars play and then the backups and rookies come in.

Season tickets are what you want.

Ok preseason means exactly what it sounds like. Preseason games are played to help teams decide who they are going to keep and who not, but it doesn’t count if they win or lose. It’s like more practice basically. Usually second string players are put in, sometime even third.

PRE SEASON IS BEFORE THE ACTUAL SEASON STARTS. THE RECORDS DURING PRESEASON MEAN NOTHING, IT BASICALLY LIKE A SCRIMMAGE GAME. AND A LOT OF TIMES THE REGULAR SEASON STARTERS (THE BIG NAME PEOPLE) DONT PLAY IN PRESEASON GAMES SO THEY DO NOT GET INJURED
