IF you got the tickets after you sold your vehicle your are NOT responsible IF you turned you tags in and have you copy of the receipt. Once you turn the tags in you are no longer responsible for what happens to the vehicle. If you got the tickets before you sold the car you butt is on the line. They wil eventually get their money believe me
References :
You HAVE to pay them or they could put a warrant out for your arrest!
References :
First call the police jurisdiction that issued the tickets and explain the situation. Ask them what documentation they need to get them off your record. It will probably be a copy of the receipt you got from the wrecking yard. Also get the address to send it to and to whom it should be attention of.
Also, take the receipt to the title registration unit in your state/country and make sure that they have it on record that you do not own this vehicle any more. Do this before the idiot that got the parking tickets hits and kills someone and you get the blame.
References :
had that happen twice with different vehicles

The registered owner of record, at the time the citations were issued, is responsible for the fines. That would mean you.
References :
You got the tickets. You're responsible for paying them. Other people are not responsible for debts you have incurred.
References :
Well it depends, did you get the tickets before you sold it?, if so then you are responsible, but if you sold it and the junkyard got the tickets then you are still probably responsible, junk yards have a bad habit of not changing the ownership and parking anywhere not caring because it's not in their name, you were supposed to file the release of liability, with DMV, when you sold it, to prove the tickets are not yours if you didn't you have to pay them or they will come and lock your current car now or later they will lock your car until you pay, and if you don't pay now the fines will grow, and if you can't pay they take your car and you probably still have to pay, with interest growing. And just because you sold it as junk to the junk yard doesn't necesaryly mean they junked it or sold parts, 98 percent of the time if they can repair it they sell it for more money
References :
Parking tickets were issued when the vehicle was in your name, so you're still on the hook.
