How far in advance do bands generally release tour dates?

I am thinking about taking a group of girls to a concert for a 13th birthday party/trip. How far in advance do bands generally released tour dates? As of right now, I can not find anything out here for spring of 2010.

Some of their favorite bands are Kings of Leon, All time low, We the Kings, Boys like Girls… Really anything in The alternative rock genre.

Google the band names and check their websites. Also the bands myspaces tend to have a list of tour dates.

Depends heavily on the band but usually they announce tours at least 4 or 6 months in advance so people can start buying their tickets.

FYI… Kings of Leon just finished touring for 2009, so it’ll be a little while before they are back at it.
