How do you reserve a Supreme Court tour and is it necessary to have booked one to visit?

To tour the US Supreme Court do you need a reservation, and how do you book one (the website is rather unclear). Also, can you just walk in as you can in the Library of Congress and the National Archives, or must you have a reserved tour, like the Capitol and White House?
